Snacks. If you were to ask Kevin his key to success with trail running you might expect to hear something "Coach-like" but you'd be wrong. You wouldn't hear about hill repeats or time on your feet, hydration or training plans. Nope. More than likely you'll get to hear all about Kevin's favorite snacks. Kevin thinks the secret to success is to eat incessantly. Considering his astonishing 8th place finish at the Squamish 50/50 just a few weeks back (August 2017,) I don't think we will argue with his philosophy. Maybe snacking is the key and with more ultras on the horizon (100 mile at Orcas Island, Feb 2018) he will have plenty of time to test his theory to the maximum while training and racing.
TriStars is thrilled to have snapped Kevin up as our Lead Coach for the Fall Trail Running Program. While Kevin definitely knows a lot about snacking, he also knows a great deal about trail running and training - all of which he will be sharing with our runners.
Kevin has an incredibly positive attitude which propelled his quick rise in the growing sport of trail and ultra distance running. We "Forest Dwellers" expect big things from Coach Kevin in 2018 and have no doubt he will achieve all he sets out to do...with snacks in hand of course.
