The 5th Annual Fort Street Cycle Beginner Tri for MS is a non-timed, triathlon training event that enables beginner triathletes, those returning to the sport after an absence, or those who just want to take part in this fun event to experience a triathlon in a non-competitive and supportive atmosphere. The event is definitely geared towards beginners though, with a ton of great info provided along the way to May 7th!

When: Sunday May 7, 2017
Distance: 500m Swim (25m pool) 17.5k Bike, 4k Run or Walk
Where: Saanich Commonwealth Place, 4636 Elk Lake Drive, Victoria
Maps: Bike Map and Run Map
Parking: Parking is available at Saanich Commonwealth Place

Last Year’s Beginner Tri for MS was a Huge Success
Over $15,500 was raised for MS from the 2016 event. Over $68,000 for MS has been raised by this race over the past four years!! How much will be raised in 2017?!
If you’re taking part in the event and want to get family and friends involved please ask them to volunteer. Not taking part but would like to volunteer? Volunteers are always needed!

The Fort Street Cycle Beginner Tri for MS is a fundraising event to support people with Multiple Sclerosis in our community. 100% of the money raised from our online fundraising campaign goes directly to the MS Society of Canada’s South and Central Island Chapter.

There will also be a Fundraising Challenge Raffle, so for every $50 you raise, you’ll get one entry into the raffle. So the more you raise the better your chances of winning a fantastic bike from Fort Street Cycle! NOTE: Volunteers, spectators, family & friends can all fundraise – this is not limited to the event participants.
Fundraising is easy, simply go onto the event online Fundraising Site and scroll down below the top banner to the black box that says “Click Here to Fundraise”. Then follow the steps to setup your own fundraising page and send emails to your family/friends/co-workers with your page link asking for donations. We hope that all Beginner Tri participants will commit to raising a minimum of $100 for the MS Society of Victoria!
Note: The Fundraising Challenge will be calculated on the amount of funds raised and entered into our online fundraising site by May 6 @ 2:00pm.
Race Package Pickup and Helmet Check
Race Package will be available for pickup at Fort Street Cycle on Friday, May 5th from 3:00-6:00pm and Sat, May 6th from 10:00-2:00pm.
Race packages MUST be picked up by 2pm on Saturday, May 6.
There will be NO race day package pickup.
All participants MUST pick up their race package IN PERSON as there is a waiver which needs to be signed.
Transition Demonstration/Q & A Session
When: Sunday, April 30th from 3-4:30pm
TriStars Training coaches will be running a Transition Demonstration/Q & A Session at the Saanich Commonwealth Place.
Come and get some great racing tips plus bring all your questions!
